There’s a bunch of cool stuff to look forward to in 2013, but here’s just a few that I am most excite-ted about:
November 2011 Placebo put a statement on Facebook that they had entered the studio to record the follow-up to their last album“Battle for the Sun”. Fans have be given a tentative March 2013 release date but no album title as of now. However the band just released a 5 song EP titled “B3” that should tide them over. The five songs are classic Placebo, a band that has been going strong since 1994 and has flown under the radar in the US. Hopefully this album and world tour will bring them a bigger audience
Bad Religion-True North
One of the most respected names in Punk, Bad Religion are releasing their 18th studio album early next year. The album is rumored to be their swan song, lets hope that isn’t the case.
One of the most respected bands in the world, Pearl Jam is completing work on their 10th studio album. With songs being road tested over the last two years, the group is said to have 12-15 song ideas ready to go. This band has never disappointed their fans, and we hope that this latest album wont as well
With the pressure of having to follow up their biggest album to date, Patrick and Dan have linked up with Uber-Producer Danger Mouse to record the new album. Recording is expected to begin this winter with a tour for the new album beginning in the fall of 2013. But knowing this groups love of the road, I have a feeling we will be seeing them before that.
“It’s Blitz” the last and most critically acclaimed album from the New York trio was released in 2009 and fans have been waiting for what the band would do next. Well after LCD Soundsytems James Murphy said he was in the studio with the band the anticipation has reached a fever pitch. The release of the album hopefully will be followed by a world tour
